Acceptable Use Policy

Acceptable Use Policy is a service of Geek Logic BV.

Geek Logic BV provides colocation and dedicated server services on the Internet. Geek Logic BV has certain legal and ethical responsibilities regarding the use of its computer network and equipment involved in these services.

Geek Logic BV’s general policy is to act as a neutral provider of access to the global Internet. Geek Logic BV has specific ethical concerns regarding the use of its computers detailed below. Geek Logic BV reserves the right to suspend or cancel a customer’s access to any or all services provided by Geek Logic BV when Geek Logic BV decides that the account has been inappropriately used.

Geek Logic BV does not allow any use or attempted use of an Internet account or computer without the owner’s authorization. Such attempts include “social engineering” (tricking other people into releasing their passwords), password cracking, security hole scanning etc.

Any unauthorized use of accounts or computers by a Geek Logic BV customer, whether or not the attacked account or computer belongs to Geek Logic BV, will result in action against the attacker. Possible actions include warnings, account suspension or cancellation, and civil or criminal legal action, according to the seriousness of the attack.

We do not allow the following activities on our network: running a DHCP server, bonjour advertising, using unassigned IP addresses.

Specific activities that are prohibited include, but are not limited to:

  • Use the remote Mac for the purposes of harassment or abuse.
  • Access, download, send or receive any data (including images), which Geek Logic BV considers offensive in any way, including sexually explicit, discriminatory,defamatory or libellous material.
  • Use the remote Mac to gamble.
  • Download copyrighted material such as music media (MP3) files, film and video files (not an exhaustive list).
  • In any way infringe any copyright, database rights, trademarks or other intellectual property.
  • Failing to provide complete, truthful and accurate information regarding the Client’s identity as requested on all of Geek Logic BV’s application forms.
  • Misrepresenting or fraudulently representing products/services.
  • Managing a proxy server on Geek Logic BV’s network.
  • Facilitating, aiding or encouraging any of the above prohibited activities, whether using Geek Logic BV’s network or any other network.
  • Abusing or harassing Geek Logic BV employees, staff or agents, including without limitation, verbal harassment, yelling, swearing, rudeness, threats or any intentionally disruptive behavior.


It is the customer’s responsibility to maintain a current backup of their remote Mac mini.

Bandwidth Usage

We allow customers to transfer up to 100GB of data in a month and hold a sustained transfer speed of 10Mbps. The connection is burstable to 500Mbps for short moments. Other violations of this policy may be grounds for termination regardless of bandwidth utilization.

Commercial advertisements with e-mail

Geek Logic BV customers are prohibited from sending unsolicited commercial advertisements in e-mail. Sending unsolicited commercial advertisements via e-mail will likely result in account suspension or cancellation. Listing of IP addresses in spam blacklists like Spamhaus are grounds for suspension or termination of service.

Sending a message, especially an advertisement, to more than five recipients, is by itself spamming unless the individuals have specifically requested to be added to a mailing list on that topic.


Geek Logic BV reserves the right to cancel service at any time. All fees paid in advance of cancellation will be pro-rated and paid by Geek Logic BV if Geek Logic BV institutes its right of cancellation. If cancellation is caused by customers violation of these policies, then no refund is due.

Customers can cancel service any time and be refunded any amount exceeding the pre-payment of the current month. Due to security concerns, all account cancellations must be done in writing via email that includes the primary contact of the account, account name, and reason for cancellation. The account will be canceled at the end of the current billing period, unless a date of cancellation is specified.

Customers have to disable ‘Find My Mac’ on cancellation, if enabled, and remove the remote Mac from their iCloud account. Using iCloud to remotely ‘erase’ the machine will actually place an iCloud lock firmware lock on the machine. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS ERASE FUNCTION. There will be €250 recovery fee charged to any customer who use the remote erase/lock function.


Customer agrees that it shall defend, indemnify, save and hold Geek Logic BV harmless from any and all demands, liabilities, losses, costs and claims, including reasonable attorney’s fees asserted against Geek Logic BV, its agents, its customers, officers and employees, that may arise or result from any service provided or performed or agreed to be performed or any product sold by customer, its agents, employees or assigns. Customer agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Geek Logic BV against liabilities arising out of; (1) any injury to person or property caused by any products sold or otherwise distributed in connection with Geek Logic BV’s network; (2) any material supplied by customer infringing or allegedly infringing on the proprietary rights of a third party; (3) copyright infringement and (4) any defective products sold to customer from Geek Logic BV’s network.


Geek Logic BV will not be responsible for any damages your business may suffer. Geek Logic BV makes no warranties of any kind, expressed or implied for services we provide. Geek Logic BV disclaims any warranty or merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The includes loss of data resulting from delays, non-deliveries, wrong delivery, and any and all service interruptions caused by Geek Logic BV and its employees. Geek Logic BV reserves the right to revise its policies at any time.
